About Me

Taylor With Tea

Hi, I’m Taylor. I’m an (almost) twenty-something college student in Philadelphia, studying the art of how to scam people business, and

I have a lot of feelings.

I’ve been a lover of writing ever since I can remember. English has always been one of my favorite subjects, and since coming to college I’ve missed it, having been too busy learning how to trick people into buying stuff the fundamentals of marketing and other business-related things.

Pinstripes&Lipgloss was born in April 2013 out of a desire for a way to creatively express myself and share my thoughts on things that are important to me.

“Pinstripes” comes from my future career in business, and represents my current life as a college student, a lifelong learner, a deep thinker, and a fan of men sporting business formal.

“Lipgloss” comes from my junior high years, where it was my favorite accessory, often to my detriment (say no to sparkles). It represents my love of fashion and doing things with flair and originality, as well as my less serious side.

I’m living right now where the two meet, at the strange intersection of originality and novelty and the demands of the real world. I blog about food, fashion, beauty, life as a college student, and life as a girl who has absolutely nothing figured out (yet).

Some things to know about me:

  • I’m obsessed with Starbucks but I still don’t know how I feel about coffee.
  • I fall down often, ungracefully, and without reason.
  • I’m a closet drama queen and a not-so-closet diva.
  • I’m sassy. Like, really sassy.
  • When in doubt, I always order dessert.

When I’m not writing here or studying, you’ll find me:

Traveling the world with my best friend and love, eating (too much) great food, laughing over the small things, and pretending I know how to be an adult.

I’m so glad you’ve visited. Let’s be friends.

    • 🙂 I am a firm believer in gel pens! I have a set of five neon gel pens that I use for class notes and while I get weird looks in class sometimes, it helps me learn material better – and it makes writing more fun!

      • I was a physics major in college, so for me in college it was all pencils. It takes a special person with less fear than I to do those calculations in pen! I didn’t learn the powers of goofy-colored gel pens until a few years ago.

  3. Hey there Taylor, you’ve put together a neat About. I’m 50 now and reading your About, I wish I had been as together as you. You sound like you’ve got your feet firmly planted and your passion in the clouds – a perfect place for all your parts to be.
Enjoy and great blog, I adore the sparkly shoe shot!

      • When you get to be 50, it’s easier to see/tell/read who’s together, who’s trying and who thinks they are… It’s something about the age or maybe the powerful prescription glasses 😉

  6. Hey Taylor – I thought I should let you know that as a new blogger you are my “unofficial” mentor! Your page is my “go to” page for how I should be doing things, your posts give me permission to write about anything “fearlessly” along with some great ideas for future posts (I will be re-blogging your leggings post – which was priceless – very soon). Thank you so much for all the help you have unknowingly given me. Please keep doing what you’re doing – I’m watching closely 🙂 Yours fearlessly, P.

      • Hi Taylor – thank you for your lovely message and forgive me for not responding before now. I do have a question – how do I attach the URL (I think that’s what they’re called) for my post to the photo I have in my post? :/ Thank you in advance 🙂
